Chapter 23
I guess it makes sense, the way I've been able to find my way around town without any issues, not being able to see myself on the roof. Even the unexplainable power source for my new tools and how they just started working the way I imagined.
I've had this power all along? But why now? Why didn't they show up sooner?
While laying in my bed I thought about these questions... Wishing I could've heard more of talons and Thorne's conversations, till I slowly drifted to sleep.
I was back at the roof but this time it was Rebecca alone. She was surrounded by beautiful flowers as she nelt there crying. I tried to touch her shoulder but I passed through her like a ghost.
Then a man's voice spoke, "why do you cry child?" Rebecca seemed startled, when she looked up it seemed she was the same age as she was during the bus accident way back when. Her wounds were healed though.
When she stood up she wiped her tears, "who's there!?" The man spoke again but I couldn't see him, "I only want to make you stop crying, make a wish and I shall grant it. For you I would do anything." The voice sounded like Talon's.
"wh-where are you?" Rebecca said shakily.
Then a crow walked towards her and said, "I am here, at your service" he bowed and folded one wing in front of himself while holding the other one outstretched behind him. "Do you remember me?"
She looked confused but then realized, "are you the crow I saved back then?"
"it is I..." The crow seemed over joyed at her realization, "at last, you remember"
Just then my body was pulled away back to where I was sleeping and I woke up.
I could barely move I felt exhausted, but then a white glow starting coming off of my chest, I wasn't exhausted anymore I had more energy than I usually did. Was this another power? I'll need to test out what I have so far.
It was the weekend, so I didn't have to go to school thankfully I could focus on sorting out everything, maybe even coming up with a plan to find out what Rebecca and Talon were up to.
I Showered and got dressed, ate dinner, then went straight to the garage. It was a little cramped now with Dad's car in the way but thankfully I didn't need to tinker today.
I went to shad one more time, "shad, do you have a master?" I had thought this after seeing talon, but perhaps these shadow men are a result of an ability. It seemed a lightbulb went off in his head, "there is someone who gives us commands and we follow them, but since the day you've caught me I don't feel the need to follow those orders." Shad was far more eloquent today than normal. "Are you... Okay?" I asked, confused at his new kind of energy. He felt almost human now instead of like a shadow monster.
"well, I'm starting to remember more, I used to be more whole... I'm only half of me though." He quickly became more like his dull sad self that most shadow men were. "Being around you feels nice though"
"we will investigate that later, can you lead me to your master?" Shad was silent for a moment, "...yes I think I know where he is, but I don't really want to go to him..." Was he saying he wouldn't take me? Something about the shadow master definitely threw shad off a bit.
"don't worry I won't let anything happen to you, if you could just show me where he is I could better understand how to help you, or help all the other shadow men too?" Shad shrugged then reluctantly obliged. Tonight we would go see who has been sending the shadow men after us.
