Chapter 27

Why wasn't agnir coming? Did she fall asleep again? I tried to create fire in my palm but nothing happened.
"it's no use Torin! This room is enchanted in a way that instantly puts fairies to sleep. Unless they are already manifested, they won't be of any use to you. Now accept your frozen fate!" Theatrice roared and a beam of ice shot towards me, I ducked behind Tristan's frozen body. The ice spewed in all directions bouncing off Tristan's frame.
I looked at the room. What could possibly be used in an enchantment to maintain a spell specifically to bind fairies?
I didn't have much time to look before Theatrice moved to a different position. "There's no point in hiding Torin, there is only one inevitable ending for you." Another beam of ice shot out towards me. I fell forward on my face as I tried to run. I looked back and one of my feet had been caught in the blast. I struggled to break it free as I looked all around me for a clue.
Theatrice slowly slithered towards me, "yours will be the least dignified of them all, lying on the ground terrified and hopeless! Hahahah truly another great masterpiece for my collection!" She was nearly on top of me now. "Only one last step before I freeze you. I'll have you watch as I rip agnir from you, then I'll consume her and watch your terrified face as you mourn her death!" Theatrice stopped above me.
There it is, that's definitely the enchantment. A circle with a runic symbol on one of the torches adorning the wall. There was only one chance. I only had one thing that I could throw.
Theatrice's claw approached my chest, then it pierced the skin creating a long cut down the middle, "AAHHHHHHH!" The pain was excruciating, but I tried to focus on manifesting agnir as I threw the only item I still possessed. It was a wooden bowl with a beautiful design created by my father, given to me by Arthur.
I held on to my desire to manifest agnir into a new form, one that she could survive in and escape. The wooden bowl flew in the air as my soul was being ripped apart. I looked at Theatrice's claw, it had started to pull on agnirs flame. A flame that was clinging to me with all its strength. Suddenly a clash rang out as wood knocked over the engraved torch. Theatrice paused and looked with wide eyes in the direction of the burning wood on the ground.
Theatrice shouted, "nooooo!"
Suddenly I felt agnir's strength again. I manifested her new form hoping with all my might it was something good. The power concentrated on my hand then all at once her power was gone. I looked at Theatrice's claw in devastation.
Theatrice had pulled hard on agnir's flames ripping it from my body. Strands of agnir still clung to me.
Theatrice growled, "it wasn't clean but it had to be done, now the power of the dragon slayers are mine!" She held the still beating heart that was engulfed in flame and began to bring it to her lips.
My chest was ripped open but the remaining flames were starting to pull my skin back together. "Agnir!!!" I cried reaching for the heart that was about to be eaten.
Theatrice dropped the heart into her mouth.
