Chapter 21

Chapter 21

I was cold. But why? I hadn't realized it until now but I wasn't cold these past couple days since agnir has awoken. Suddenly the frigid air was piercing my thin clothes. "Is it cold to you guys?" I looked at their clothes for the first time and they were all wearing an extra layer.

Arthur replied, "I have been wondering why you've been underdressed, here put this on." Arthur handed me a cloak. I put it around my shoulders.

What happened? Suddenly I could feel the cold out of nowhere? I tried to use the flame to warm myself but it wouldn't come. I held my hand out in front of me but I couldnt make fire like I had before. There was no flame energy in me?

"it'll be a bit before we touch the ground, I'm going to rest." Byron turned over in the small boat. The others followed suit.

I saw Thena on Rapnir. She was smiling as Rapnir was running around wildly in the air. You could see she was enjoying the freedom of flight as her natural calm smile shined with a small brilliant glow. She was beautiful.

I dared not try to speak to Agnir in case someone was still awake. What was even weirder was that agnir was not speaking to me. I decided that maybe she was just resting, and I decided to try and sleep as well.

*************

Agnir was falling quickly towards the ground. She couldn't help but scream as she descended towards the grass. "Ahhh!" She closed her eyes and braced for impact.

She suddenly stopped falling. The grass greeted her gently instead. She was laying down in a field. The wind tussled the greenery gently. It was a beautiful day.

Agnir got up, "where am I?" She said as she looked around. "Wait a minute... This place... It's our village!" The village that Torin grew up in was peaceful and welcoming.

Agnir felt like she was home, after all she had lived more than half of her life through Torin's memories. She got up and started to walk towards Torin's home.

"Dad!" A young boy with blonde hair cried out from an open door. He rushed outside and jumped into the arms of a large strong man, a familiar man.

"dad did you bring me something!?" The boy was ecstatic. His eyes shined with excitement as he looked into his father's arms.

Declan was holding a bundle of cloth, "well... I did bring something" he moved the cloth slightly and showed the boy what was under neath.

"wow!" The young Torin seemed satisfied with what he had seen.

Declan shushed him, "let's surprise your mother!" They walked together into the home.

Agnir knew what was in the cloth. It wasn't anything particularly amazing actually. Declan had brought home fruit. She heard the excited conversation from inside the home.

"agnir?" Tristan's voice appeared behind agnir.

She spun around quickly, was he able to see her in this memory? She saw him walking into town dressed in a shabby disguise. He might've looked like a mad man the way he spoke to himself.

"no, we won't be burning down this village. In fact there is someone I'd like you to meet" Tristan made agnir's sword appear. "Be on good behavior agnir" Tristan laid the great sword against a tree.

Just then Declan led Torin back out of the home. He knelt down and pointed to Tristan while whispering something. Torin cautiously approached.

Tristan welcomed the boy, "don't be shy. Her name is agnir. You guys are about the same age."

Torin walked up to the sword, "so pretty! Can we play?" Torin wasn't asking Tristan, he was asking the sword.

The younger agnir sighed, "I don't know how." the Sword laid motionless against the tree.

Torin smiled and grabbed the hilt of agnir, "come on!" The sword suddenly shimmered away revealing a young blonde girl in a blue dress. Her hand was holding Torin's. Her expression was completely surprised.

Torin pulled her arm before she could even protest and they started running and playing in the field.

Suddenly the memories returned to agnir, "the day you grabbed my hand, I was already yours."
